Alphamax wins first Happy Spelling Bee competition

On June 18 2013 Alphamax Academy lower school and Junior Secondary school took park in the first contest that was sponsored by the Learning for a Better Future Foundation. (The Foundation Leren voor een Goede Toekomsi).

Monique Brown, the head of this foundation had the brilliant idea of encouraging young Surinamese to gain confidence in English in a competition which would bring schools together in a similar fashion to the Dutch spelling competition.

AlphaMax Academy and the Caribbean Educational Institute School were the first to enter the contest. They competed in a very tight contest which AlphaMax won by one point.

Parents and students thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Mrs. Kavita Thani conducted the evening's show.
